About Torchline
Trust, verified — not assumed.
Background checks tell you what a court recorded. Torchline tells you what an organization knows. We give camps, universities, sports teams, and elderly care facilities a secure, structured way to exchange conduct history before someone is placed in a position of trust.
Our story
Built after seeing the same gap, again and again.
Torchline was founded by people who have spent years inside organizations that serve vulnerable populations. We kept running into the same blind spot: a candidate could pass every standard background check, yet still carry conduct history that no one had formally asked about.
The problem was not bad intent. It was bad tooling. Reference checks were inconsistent, phone-tag conversations were unrecorded, and there was no secure, consent-based way for one camp, university, sports team, or care facility to share what it knew with another.
Our team has done thousands of these checks every year for Verifent, our sister company serving mission-driven organizations. We built Torchline to make that same exchange defensible, auditable, and easy to complete. So the next time your organization places someone in a position of trust, it has the full picture — not just the part that made it to court.
How we work
Our values are the product.
Safety first
Every design decision starts with the people being protected: campers, students, athletes, residents, patients, and the teams that care for them.
Radical clarity
Conduct history should be answerable in a standardized format, not hidden behind vague references or incomplete phone calls.
Institutional accountability
We make it easier to ask the right questions and to answer them honestly, so responsibility travels with every placement.
Built for teams
HR, safeguarding, legal, and operations all see the same record — no silos, no back-channel email chains.
